Process

Our name is La Clevique Kids Opera Company. On the first year in the company we had to find a name for it.   There was a little boy from France who was very unhappy. The kids thought that it would make him cheer up if we named our company with a French sounding word.   That�s why our company�s name is La Clevique Kid�s Opera Company.

We developed our theme by thinking about things that we know about and care about.   Some of the things we came up with are friend�s, family, hope, and change.   We decided that change can bring pain or joy and we had all experienced it some time in our life.  We all shared how change had affected us.  So, we decided that change would be our theme.  Next, we developed our thesis.  We thought of statements that were true about change.  We came up with the statement; Change can cause pain or joy.

We developed our characters by thinking about real people.  We brainstormed a list of negative positive and negative-postive character traits.  We used these lists to build our characters.  We finally decided on these character traits:

 To write dialogue for the characters we had to make each character unique. We wrote how we think each character would act like, dress, and speak.
