Composer

This is a list of the things we have done so far

-   Kitchen Koncerto-we brought in kitchen stuff  and wrote a piece of music using them as instruments down. We used these markings: f, p, allegro, lento and, > and <

-   We played our composition for other work group

-   We got feedback

-   We composed melodies using these ideas:

o      Random notes

o      Pitch sets

o      Notes that spell words

o      Graphs

o      Rhythm skeletons

The most important work our group has done so far is to write music and be able to play it on the xylophones and SING IT. Ms Scesa says if we can�t sing it the performers won�t be able to either. This is what we did:

First we took out the notes we weren�t using, second we chose a melody that we wrote using a pentatonic scale. Then we added dynamics and tempo markings. Then we played our different melodies at the same time. WOW! They even sounded good! Finally we played them for the performers and asked them to sing the melodies on LA. They sang them. It sounded really different and great when they sang what we wrote.

This was important because it started us composing, writing down our music, performing it AND hearing what our music would sound like when it is sung.
